Drop-off, meeting point and parking
Sarlat’s historic centre is pedestrianised. Coaches drop the group off at the short-stay coach bay, then park in one of the two car parks reserved for coaches.
Good to know: the driver can walk the group to the Tourist Office, then return to the drop-off bay to move the coach to one of the two coach car parks.
Coach access map
A map of Sarlat town centre showing the drop-off bay, the coach car parks and the tour starting point can be downloaded opposite. It is also sent with your booking confirmation: please pass it on to your driver.
Tours in Beynac, La Roque-Gageac and day trips
The meeting point and parking arrangements are given in your booking confirmation.
Coming without a coach
For small groups travelling by car, several public car parks surround Sarlat’s historic centre. We will tell you which is most convenient for the time of your tour.
Punctuality, weather, group size
Punctuality. The guide will wait for up to 20 minutes after the agreed time. If you are running late, let us know: the tour will be shortened accordingly or, where possible, moved to later the same day.
Weather. Tours go ahead in rain or hot weather, with an adapted route. In the event of an orange or red weather warning, we offer a new date or a refund.
Group size. Up to 50 people per guide. Above that, a second guide is required and the group is split in two.
Languages. Tours in French, English, Spanish and Italian; other languages on request.
Contact on the day. Group services: +33 5 53 31 45 42.
Tours that adapt to your group
Our tours take place on foot and outdoors, in historic centres with cobbled and sometimes steep streets, particularly in Beynac and La Roque-Gageac. Let us know when you make your request if your group includes people with reduced mobility, visual or hearing impairments, or young children: we will adapt the route, pace and length of the tour.
Our key terms
Our terms and conditions of sale for private guiding services are attached to every quote and are available on request from visites@sarlat-tourisme.com. Here are the main points. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
Quote and confirmation
The quote is valid for 30 days. You accept it by returning the signed quote marked “Bon pour accord — commande avec obligation de paiement” (approved, order with obligation to pay), by acceptance e-mail or by paying the deposit. The order is firm once we receive your acceptance and payment: a 30% deposit if the tour is more than 30 days away, otherwise the full price.
Payment
The balance is payable no later than 7 days before the tour. French public bodies pay on receipt of the invoice issued after the service. Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, card at our desk or via a secure payment link, French public-sector payment procedure, cash within the applicable limits. If the balance is not paid when due, and a formal reminder remains unanswered for 48 hours, the booking may be cancelled.
Cancellation
- More than 15 days before the tour: all payments are refunded in full.
- From 15 to 8 days before: 30% of the total price remains due.
- 7 days or less before: the full price is due.
Admission fees and third-party services already committed and not refunded by the third party remain due.
Number of participants
The final number must be confirmed in writing no later than 10 days before the tour. For items charged per person, a reduction notified less than 10 days before is not taken into account; additional participants on the day are charged.
Right of withdrawal
As these are leisure activities provided on a specific date, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply (Article L. 221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code).
Complaints and mediation
Any complaint should be sent to the Tourist Office, preferably within 15 days of the tour. If no satisfactory reply is received within 60 days, consumer customers may refer the matter free of charge to the Médiateur du Tourisme et du Voyage (www.mtv.travel).
