Everything you need to know before booking
What is the difference between a private tour and a public tour?
On a private tour, the guide is booked for your group alone, on the date and at the time of your choice, and the content is tailored to your participants. Public tours run on a fixed schedule, are open to everyone and are sold by the ticket.
How many people per guide?
Up to 50 people per guide. Above that, a second guide is required and the group is split in two.
Which languages are the tours in?
Most tours are available in French, English, Spanish and Italian. Other languages may be possible on request. Treasure hunts and themed tours are in French only.
How do I book and when do I pay?
You receive a quote valid for 30 days. Your booking is confirmed once we receive your acceptance and a 30% deposit, or the full price if the tour takes place within 30 days. The balance is due no later than 7 days before the tour; public bodies pay on invoice after the service.
What happens if I cancel, or if the weather is bad?
If you cancel more than 15 days before, all payments are refunded. Between 15 and 8 days before, 30% of the total price remains due. At 7 days or less, the full price is due. Tours go ahead in the rain; in the event of an orange or red weather warning, we offer a new date or a refund.
Do you have rates for schools and the travel trade?
Yes. Schools will find their terms in the School groups section. Coach operators, travel agencies and tour operators can request our trade rates from the Travel trade section.
Where is the meeting point?
It is given in your booking confirmation. Tours of Sarlat start in front of the Tourist Office, 3 rue Tourny.
